All About Search Engine Optimization "SEO" Part 1

Search Engine Landscape

All About Search Engine Optimization "SEO"Part 1

Today, the first page of a search engine has three main opportunities for marketing (including PPC advertising). The opportunities that will work best for your business are dependent on the focus of your geographic reach and your marketing budget.

SEO (search engine optimization) is the original format in which search engines displayed results. As it has been around the longest, consumers are most comfortable with its presence and respect its results with great trust. The time-line to achieving top results in SEO varies dependent on competition levels and the starting position of your website, but on average, results come to fruition in about two to three months.

Local Business Listings (maps) is the newest medium available in search engine marketing, but it demands attention like no other. These listings take dominance on the page (particularly for businesses that serve a regional market) as they sit alongside a detailed map.

Monthly SEO Campaign: Site Optimization & Link Popularity Building (Suggested)
1. Writing content for the site (articles and internal blog posts).
2. Link Research: Continuously updating list of relevant blogs, forums, and
competitor link acquisition.
3. Relevant Link Building: Daily posting on blogs, forums, guest posting on high
quality blogs, external article submission, link wheel development. An average of 1000 links will be built.
4. Link bait development: We expect all targeted keywords to rank on Google’s first page within 60 Days, and the first keyword within 1-2 months and similar results on Bing/Yahoo or your money back. 5. URL restructuring: Many websites have URL's that are either to dynamic, or not dynamic enough. In addition, the targeted keywords will be imbedded in the URL.
6. Restructuring of Title Tags, URL, Meta Keywords, Alt Tags, etc.

Our priority with this campaign is to bring your web site to the top of the search results for the keywords that matter, and keep them there. Most of our competitors fail to maintain top rankings long term because of their lack of effective link popularity building (explained on-page). We use the most effective methods to get and maintain top rankings for your site, thereby significantly increasing your web site traffic and sales.

How to us anchor text in your backlink building

While it’s important to invest in SEO and properly optimize a website and build legitimate inbound links, the Google Penguin update served as a not so subtle reminder that there is a difference between optimizing your website and web content and “over-optimizing” it. One recommendation that SEOs have long been making is to include keyword anchor text links within content. The search engines crawl links to determine website relevancy, and what better way to tell the search engine spiders what a page is about than to use a keyword as anchor text?
In recent months, website owners that over-used this tactic have been penalized. Does that mean that you should no longer include keyword anchor text links within your content? No, the strategy doesn’t need to be ditched completely. It’s just important to take a look at the anchor text that you’ve been using and going forward, diversify it.
The first step to avoid a penalty is to take a look at what you’ve been doing so far. Using SEO software, run an anchor text report that will show you all of the anchor text that you’ve been using that links to all of the pages of your website. How many are there? If you notice that there are only a few or that one accounts for more than 60% of anchor text inbound links, that could cause problems.
With this information, you can go back to old content and vary the anchor text links. A good way to do this is to expand beyond the keyword in the link. For example, if you were using “red dress shoes” as keyword anchor text link, expand it to the following variations:
Find red dress shirt
Where do I find a Red dress shirt
Buy red shirt dress shirt online
[insert brand name] red dress shirt
Red dress shirts for sale
New red dress shirt
Etc.
This helps to keep things natural, and improves content from a usability perspective as well. If you wrote a blog post and linked to “red dress shoes” 3 times, wouldn’t that seem a little bit spammy and obvious?
Another suggestion among SEO circles is to bring back the “click here” and “read more” anchor text links assuming that the search engine spiders will notice the words surrounding the link to establish relevance. It certainly can’t hurt to use this strategy sporadically.
Keyword anchor text linking still has its place in SEO, it’s just important to use many variations of the keyword and not go overboard. If a piece of content is full of blue links, it’s doubtful that they are all necessary. Scale back and focus on the quality of the link instead of the quantity.

Pinging Your Backlinks for High Google Ranking

Pinging Your Backlinks for High Google Ranking

Pinging is the method by which you alert
the search engines of the link to your content.  Sandeep Bajaj explains further in his article "Pinging Backlinks for High Google Ranking".
Did you know that when you build backlinks, it needs to be recognized by the search engines – so that you receive credit for the backlinks. When you build up backlinks life forum profiles – they’re generally not found and recognized but search engines immediately – it might take a while to get recognized or end up not getting recognized at all.
A good way to help search engines recognize your backlinks is to ping them. However, there are many webmaster that wonder if it’s a good method to ping your backlinks. If you’re looking to get credit for your backlinks  – pinging your backlinks might be a good option.
Pinging is basically a way of notifying the search engines that you have written or posted something new to your website or blog page. When you ping the page where your backlink has been created – you’re notifying the search engines that a backlink has been created your site and you should get rewarded it (since a backlink is considered as a vote) for by a change in SERP’s.
How to Ping Backlinks
We’ve come across an excellent service called ping farm that helps you ping multiple links at once. You even have the option of importing a list of URL’s and pinging them.
How we use this – If you’re a frequent visitor on my blog – you would have learnt that we’ve discussed on Social Monkee. You could basically, pull out the report to get the backlinks once the submission is complete and ping the URL’s where the backlinks are placed.
If you’re using directory submissions to build backlinks or using blog commenting as a link building strategy, it’s a good idea to take those URL’s and ping them, so that the backlink gets recognized.
How to Use Ping Farm
  1. Go to pingfarm.com
  2. Cut and paste your URL’s into the first box, or upload your text file. Ensure you place one URL per line.
  3. Scroll down to the “Services to Ping” section and click the “MASS PING!” button.
